The article analyzes Qatar's prospects in the global gas market and potential shifts in its export policy. It presents an analysis of the costs of supplying LNG from Qatar to European and Asian markets, examines Qatar's long-term LNG supply contracts, and conducts revenue calculations for export strategies. The article underscores the need for Qatar to diversify its approach to LNG exports, emphasizing the importance of not only securing sales volumes through long-term contracts but also adapting to changing gas market conditions by reserving a portion of volumes for spot sales to more effectively monetize its expanding capacities.
