Experiments in the development of porous concrete as an environmentally friendly alternative to road pavement

Road infrastructure development must prioritize safety and environmental aspects in addition to road stability. Porous concrete is a road pavement technology that looks at this aspect. Developed countries like Japan have used porous concrete for roads with high traffic. In this research, experiments were carried out related to porous concrete to determine the compressive strength and percolation obtained, so that it can be used as an alternative road pavement. The research method involves direct testing in the laboratory using two samples with different preparation materials. The test results showed that the average compressive strength of porous concrete for 28 days was 26.5 Mpa and the percolation obtained was 323.75 liters/minute/m2, so it can be proven that it can be used as road pavement for low traffic and has high water absorption capacity.
