The article presents a literature review revealing the potential of Bupleúrum auréum as a valuable source of biologically active components. The chemical composition, medicinal properties and technology of growing the crop are shown. Bupleurum aureum (Bupleurum longifolium L. subsp. aureum (Fisch. ex Hoffm.) Soo) is the most effective and valuable crop of the genus Bupleurum of the Apiaceae family. The composition of aureus includes ascorbic acid, carotene, saponins, alkaloids, phytosterols, flavonoids, tannins and essential oils. The whole plant has valuable medicinal properties, but the aerial part of Bupleúrum auréum is used to a greater extent.
