Contemporary ceramic artworks break through the restrictions of use value; the creation method is more accessible, the use of materials is more diversified, and the application of plant materials is one of these trends. This paper expounds on the design and application types of plant materials, explores the aesthetic characteristics of flowers, fruits, branches, and leaves of plants, and then takes plant materials and ceramic materials as creative carriers for design and practice research and presents them in 2D or 3D ceramic artworks in figurative or abstract forms, using them as a kind of ceramic language to show the artistic expression of plants. The results of modeling, texture, hollowing and repetition, color experiment, and comprehensive material experiment were successfully determined through design and ceramic craft creation.
