Optical properties of dust and other aerosols were studied with a high-spectral-resolution lidar (HSRL) at 532 nm wavelength at Kyushu University, western Japan. We developed an HSRL system operatable with an intermittent observation protocol of Asian dust and aerosol lidar observation network (AD-Net). Near infrared seeder laser was converted to visible wavelength and was regularly tuned to the centre of an iodine absorption line. An example of continuous observation of aerosol lidar ratio and depolarization ratio in April 2023 indicated that pure dust with high depolarization ratio was transported at altitudes above 2 km and most of dust below 2 km was mixed with sea salt and/or air pollution particles.
