The causes of degradation of absorbent solutions used in natural gas purification were analyzed. Factors affecting the physico-chemical properties of absorbents, absorption volume were studied. Compounds (thermally stable salts (TBT), organic acids, di-, tri-, tetra-compounds of amines) affecting the efficiency of gas cleaning and reducing the physico- chemical and working properties of ethanolamine solution were studied. It was determined that the accumulation of the above compounds in the absorbent solution causes its saturation, adversely affects the physico- chemical and working properties of the absorbent solution, and makes it unsuitable for the gas cleaning process.
