In old times when winter was coming, people in Greece welcomed winter and applied practical weather forecast according to the weather conditions during the 3 days period between the 4th and the 6th of December. But how relevant is this custom in modern times due to climate change and what is the current climate trend for the winters in Greece? Is practical weather forecast and observation in line with modern data? Do we have to worry about major atmospheric and weather changes? Are there serious concerns on environmental and health issues? In this paper we get answers for all previous questions with the in-depth analysis of extended weather data.
