Further ecological studies of Saroornagar lake by using time series analysis had been carried out to evaluate the degree of pollution, diversity and shifting of species during 1980 to 2021. From the real-time data, most of necessary parameters showed increase in its concentration many-fold and some of the parameters were drastically decreased in its concentration. From biological parameters most of the species were eliminated from the habitat and some species showed high in its density. Particularly the Chlorophyceae and Euglenophyceae members withstand well and appeared in the form of thick blooms. Nutrient loading and high degree of pollution due to anthropogenic activities contributes to the deterioration of the lake and there is a major shift in species composition. The study clearly confirms the lake is highly polluted and designated as eutrophic.
