Magnetic coagulation sedimentation tank and sand-adding high-efficiency sedimentation tank are more and more widely used in the upgrading of sewage plants, industrial wastewater treatment and river water treatment, which are on the basis of ordinary high-density sedimentation tanks, the addition of magnetic powder and micro-sand as the core of flocculation to strengthen the flocculation process. This paper discusses the development history, research direction and application results of magnetic coagulation sedimentation tank and sand-adding high-efficiency sedimentation tank, and summarises the advantages and disadvantages of the two in engineering applications. In the case of the same footprint and treatment effect, compared with the magnetic coagulation and sedimentation tank, the sand-adding high-efficiency sedimentation tank is more adaptable, less difficult to operate and maintain, and more economical in operating costs.
