In this research study, a novel and innovative approach was employed to synthesize a graphene oxide material. The synthesis process involved the reaction of graphite with sulfuric acid, carried out under controlled conditions in the presence of strong reducing and oxidizing agents. This carefully designed process ensured the formation of the desired graphene oxide. The resulting graphene oxide, functionally enriched through the Hummer oxidation, was employed as a crucial component in the preparation of some nano pharmaceutical compounds. Specifically, the researchers utilized the graphene oxide as a reactive platform for the synthesis of nano pharmaceuticals. The synthesis of the nano pharmaceutical compounds involved a reaction between the grapheneoxide and two important pharmaceutical compounds: ampicillin and pefloxacin. The resulting nano pharmaceuticals exhibited enhanced properties compared to their bulk counterparts, including improved solubility, higher surface area, and potentially enhanced bioavailability. The incorporation of the graphene oxide as a carrier for the pharmaceutical compounds also opens up opportunities for targeted drug delivery, allowing for more efficient and localized drug release.
