The article examines the production and action of sorbents based on natural components for cleaning water bodies from oil and petroleum products. A number of disadvantages and advantages of natural and synthetic sorbing materials are considered. In the laboratory of the Institute of Oil and Gas in Krasnoyarsk, synthesizing materials based on natural components were synthesized. As a result of processing natural components with elastomers, sorbing materials with improved characteristics were obtained. Based on the results obtained, the advantages and disadvantages of the already obtained sorbents were identified. The sorbents were also tested in Arctic conditions. The obtained characteristics of synthesized sorbents based on organic components make them promising for cleaning the water surface from oil and petroleum products.
