Since the declaration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, an increasing number of countries have announced plans to achieve goals such as clean water and sanitation. Pharmaceutical wastewater is a problem in wastewater treatment. Methods to improve the outcomes of wastewater emissions and prevent health problems are required. Therefore, studies regarding pharmaceutical wastewater and its effects on health are crucial. However, comprehensive systematic reviews on this topic are lacking. Thus, in the present study, we utilized bibliometric analysis, incorporating performance analysis and scientific mapping, to identify emerging research trends and provide an overview of the current landscape of studies in this field. Our study will help clarify the advancements and key areas of focus in this research topic and inspire future research.
Key words: Environmental health / urban health / wastewater / SDGs
