Abstract
Heavy rainfall incidents incur rapid topsoil swelling and runoff phenomena. Two models in lab scale testing, simulate top soil resuspension and settlement. The fitting of each model was tested, upon the lab scale observed values, under certain experimental conditions. In the experimental lab testing scenario, the fitting superiority of B-Z over T-B model is apparent. The superiority sustains, when all experimental values are included, along with all tested ‘moving windows’ which correspond to truncated experimental values. The superiority is expressed by calculating the SEE value in all testing modes, thus, SEEB-Z<SEET- B. The evolving sedimentation in mainly controlled by the water-glass wall effect and the wettability surface of packed materials.
