Abstract
This study aims to address the topic of smart cities and their role in achieving sustainable development globally. It is known that the modern trend in city-building is moving toward more advanced processes, within the framework of what is known as smart cities. This involves using more modern methods and tools, such as technology, while simultaneously working to preserve natural resources and the capabilities of future generations through what is termed sustainable development. This is achieved by implementing certain mechanisms to meet this goal, often seen in areas like energy, renewable energy, water, waste management, and others, highlighting the important role technology plays in developing various processes related to these fields.
