Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of AI-assisted Bing Image Creator on elementary students’ self-confidence and speaking skills. Low speaking ability and self-confidence are common barriers to successful language learning. Integrating local wisdom values such as gotong-royong (collaboration), unggah-ungguh (respectful interaction), and polite self-confidence is essential in shaping students’ character and communication culture. Using a quantitative explanatory approach with a causal-comparative design, data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SmartPLS). The participants were 60 third-grade students from three elementary schools in Magetan Regency who used Bing Image Creator during learning activities. The findings revealed that AI-based visual media significantly enhanced students’ self-confidence (f² = 0.511) and speaking skills (f² = 1.620). The R-Square values of 0.338 and 0.618 indicate a substantial contribution of AI to both variables. Therefore, Bing Image Creator is an effective learning tool that enables students to visualize ideas, improve self-confidence, and develop speaking abilities more logically, fluently, and coherently. Moreover, this approach encourages respectful communication and supports inclusive and sustainable education in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education) and 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
