Preface
The 5th edition of the inter-Disciplinary Underground Science & Technology (i-DUST 2014) international conference took place in the Castel-Luberon resort of the Apt city. It welcomed about 40 participants from France, South Africa, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and USA. It allowed to discuss several topics related to underground science with four sessions: “Critical zone and Geological reservoirs”, “Rare Events Physics”, “Couplings: solid Earth, atmosphere and near Universe”, and “Noise as a signal”. i-DUST 2014 was also an opportunity to hold satellite meetings related to the MIGA project dealing with the Earth gravitational field and the SQUID network of advanced magnetometry. Overall it was a very fruitful event whose most of presentations and related publications can be found here. We are already working on the next i-DUST conference that will take place most probably in Avignon area in 2016. Expecting to see you there!
