Both genetic and environmental factors influence neurological disorders. Various family, twin, and adoption studies aim to understand how combining these factors cause different types of neurological disorders. This review summarises and examines research on the extent to which genetics and environment contribute to the onset of neurological disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Understanding the causes of neurological disorders is crucial in determining better treatment options and promoting better mental health.
