Energy sustainability: how renewable energy sources help to reduce costs and increase competitiveness in the agro-industrial sector

Providing agro–industrial companies with electric and thermal energy through the use of renewable energy sources is not an easy task. But its solution is a powerful lever for raising the efficiency of agricultural production and the competitiveness of products in a market economy. Therefore, the main purpose of this article is to show the competitive advantages of energy sources for agro–industrial complexes. The article analyzes the advantages of renewable energy sources and examines the main disadvantages, their impact on the environment is considered, the use of wind, solar, geothermal and hydropower in developed countries is shown by examples.
