In the article, a scheme of a new design of a zig zag-shaped screw conveyor screw for transporting and cleaning cotton was developed, as a result of the analysis of the movement of a piece of cotton on a mesh surface along the screw surface, a calculation scheme representing the force vectors of the cotton piece under the influence of the conveyor screw was built, and the change of the angle of elevation of the conveyor screw to the cotton piece was developed. (lint) mass and the diameter of the screw, the change of the angle of elevation of the conveyor screw to the change of the angular speed of the screw and the change of the angle of elevation of the conveyor screw to the coefficient of friction of the cotton piece with the mesh surface and the change of the radius of the screw were built. Based on the analysis of the graphs of the parameters, the values of the screw pitch angle that ensure sufficient cleaning efficiency and high productivity have been determined.
