This paper introduces a novel bidirectional battery charger based on a modified SEPIC converter, designed for compatibility with various electric vehicles (EVs) including electric cars and electric two-wheelers (e2W). This charger offers versatility and adaptability to different EV models, ensuring efficient charging for a wide range of vehicles.. Specifically, the charger is tailored to charge e2Ws equipped with 72 V batteries and electric cars with 240 V batteries. Notably, the charger ensures compliance with the IEC standard while offering bidirectional operation. Simulation analyses confirm the charger’s effectiveness in grid-to-vehicle (G2V) scenarios under ideal and varying grid potential conditions. Additionally, successful testing of vehicle2home (V2H) operation validates the charger’s efficacy in bidirectional operations.
