The article deals with topical issues of development of integration processes in the field of transportation within the CIS. Currently, both integration and disintegration trends are observed within the CIS. At the same time, the transport and logistics sphere is the key for the realization of the integration potential of any economic association of states. In complex current geopolitical conditions, when regional-bloc cooperation becomes the most promising form of international cooperation, preservation of historically established ties within the CIS is important for the stable development not only of Russia, but also of other member states. The existing strategy of convergence of transport systems to create a common transport space within the CIS requires actualization taking into account new geopolitical realities and a program-targeted approach to its formation.
