Abstract
Amid the increasing global energy consumption and the necessity to enhance the reliability of power systems, the adoption of modern control methods is becoming essential. This paper addresses the development of a transformer relay protection algorithm that incorporates harmonic components, enabling greater accuracy in protection compared to conventional differential protection methods. In the realm of transformer relay protection, enhancing energy efficiency involves reducing losses during equipment operation and avoiding unnecessary shutdowns, ultimately leading to better overall energy savings for the system. In addition, it is planned to implement this algorithm on the MATLAB Simulink platform using the data of the "Samal" substation. Within the framework of this project, it is planned to use fuzzy logic to adapt relay protection to changing operating conditions. The results of the study can have a positive impact on energy saving and sustainable development of energy systems, exploring new horizons for the introduction of innovative technologies in relay protection.
