Assessment of the ecological-economic condition as an indicator of sustainable regional development (a case study of the fergana region)

Abstract
This article examines the importance and role of ecological and economic conditions in assessing regional sustainable development, using Fergana region as a case study. Based on an integrated assessment that combines ecological and economic indicators, an analysis of the environmental sustainability of the territory, the efficiency of natural resource use and the anthropogenic impact associated with economic activity was conducted. Using GIS technologies, statistical information, and evaluation criteria, a map of the ecological and economic status of the districts of the Fergana region has been compiled. The results obtained will serve as the basis for the development of practical recommendations aimed at ensuring sustainable regional development, promoting the rational use of natural resources, and reducing environmental risks. The outcomes of the study are important for ensuring sustainable development of the Fergana Valley, conserving biological diversity, and organizing economic activities in accordance with ecological requirements.
