The implementation of policies to handle the COVID-19 pandemic that has been taking place in Indonesia since the beginning of 2020 has resulted in various impacts, especially in the field of employment. This paper aims to analyze the positive and negative impacts of implementing those policies. This study uses a qualitative method, where data collection was conducted through interviews. The implementation of pandemic-related policies in PT Freeport Indonesia was selected as a case study. The findings of this study indicate that related to employment issues, the positive and negative impacts of the implementation of the COVID-19 handling policy were felt to be most significant on the issues of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and income. As for social protection (insurance), employment contracts, and severance pay, the impact was relatively not felt by workers.
