The presence of fiber waviness defects is well-known to reduce the compressive strength. A FE model was established and the results of failure load and mode were compared with the test results to demonstrate the validity and accuracy. The influence of two parameters L and offset Angle θ of fiber waviness defect was studied. The simulation results show that the compression failure load increases with the increasing of L at constant A/H for convex and concave fiber fold by 33.0% and 20.1% respectively, but there is no significant effect on the failure load with θ within 5%.
