This document gives a general presentation of the TRIZ method. It then focuses on the method's technical contradictions. The Altshuller matrix is presented, along with the design criteria and proposed innovative solutions. An analysis of a flue gas steam boiler is carried out. The first step was to carry out a functional analysis (not exhaustive) to get an idea of the areas to be covered. Then we carried out a TRIZ analysis to look for development and innovation solutions for this boiler, using the Altshuller matrix to demonstrate the contribution of this method to the innovation process, and the andicaps that can be drawn from it.
