Regulation in the field of engineering surveys: engineering-geological and informational aspects

The subject of the study, which is the basis of this article, is standardization and related legal regulation of the performance of engineering-geological and other types of surveys, as well as consideration of information support in this segment. The essence and model of engineering surveys are revealed, their place and role in the system of urban planning are described. The institutional features of public administration and self-regulation in the survey field are noted with a general assessment of negative trends. Based on the analysis of the main legal acts, a conclusion is made about their shortcomings in terms of regulating the performance of engineering surveys, including at the planning level (with «urban planning»). At the same time, the aspect of standardization is considered in a broad context, starting from the stage of developing professional standards for performing basic types of engineering surveys. The stage of development of educational standards of higher education in the part concerning the performance of engineering surveys is considered on the example of the situation at Moscow State Building University.
