This article explores the application of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology in the field of construction and building management. The possibility of creating an integrated monitoring system with the building’s information model to track the condition and wear of structures during the operational phase is examined. Special attention is given to defining a list of monitored parameters, including the date of the last inspection, the level of structural wear, and the presence and characteristics of installed RFID tags. The study also discusses the implementation of this system throughout various stages of the building’s lifecycle, from design to operation and maintenance. Examples of relevant research are presented, which examine the use of RFID technology in construction and its integration into the building’s information model.
