Based on the competency theory, this study made an integrated analysis of empirical research on the ecological and professional competency of Chinese university teachers in the past decade. Finally, 36 literature were included in the analysis, and the study sample size was 19,676.The results showed that the background variables of the study sample, gender, age, and teaching years, all had a certain influence on each dimension of teachers’ competency including ecological one, but the degree of influence was different. The gender variable had a significant positive correlation with motive, social role, and knowledge dimension, the influence degree was low and weak. The age variable had a significant positive correlation with trait, motive, attitude, social role, knowledge, and skill dimension, the influence degree was low and weak. The teaching years had a significant positive correlation with all dimensions, the influence degree was low and weak. Through this study, we can analyze the general trend of Chinese university teachers’ ecological and professional competency research results, and provide some support and help for future research in this field.
