Study of transient synchrophasors for the development of relay protection and control systems

The paper discusses issues of improving control and relay protection systems based on the study and analysis of voltage and current synchrophasors of electromechanical and electromagnetic transient processes. The authors consider methods for analyzing transient synchrophasors, the use of synchronized phasor measurement technology in control systems and for improving line distance protection. The paper provides examples of line impedance estimation using traditional protection algorithms and proposed algorithms based on phasor measurements.
