With the aim of improving the WRF/Chem model outputs for dust concentration, the soil erodibility as a representative for dust sources have been recalculated based on remote sensing (MSG-SEVIRI) and some relevant atmospheric data. The frequencies of dust episodes on specific regions have been modified by applying some weights with respect to atmospheric turbulence and wind speed. Several new regions of dust sources have been identified by the new dust source, and several formerly known dust sources have been identified as non-source areas in the new dust source map. The new dust source map have been used in the WRF/Chem model to simulated specific dust storms in the region. WRF/Chem results by the new dust sources were better performance in simulation of dust concentration over the region, in comparison to observations.
