The paper presents experimental data on the influence of the height of the horizontal liquid layer on the amplitude of pressure pulsations obtained during evaporation/boiling under reduced pressure conditions. Also presented are the spectra of pressure pulsation power versus frequency obtained using fast Fourier transform for different heights of the horizontal liquid layer under reduced pressure conditions. It is obtained that the use of a thin film of working fluid during evaporation/boiling under reduced pressure conditions reduces the amplitude of pressure pulsations compared to thicker fluid layers. Analysis of the pressure pulsation spectra for explosive boiling regimes allows us to determine the characteristic frequency corresponding to the periodicity of explosive boiling. Also, this approach allows a quantitative comparison of the power of pressure pulsations obtained in different heat exchange systems and apparatuses.
