The features of implementing a risk-oriented approach in Russian regulatory documents are examined. A brief overview of foreign experience is provided. The need for and a method of incorporating fault statistics in the calculation of failure probability based on asset health indexes are demonstrated. Additionally, the necessity of considering the duration of power supply interruptions in assessing the consequences of equipment failure is shown, along with a proposed method for doing so.
