The nature of changes in the operating modes of the power system when introducing large volumes of renewable energy sources (RES), mainly wind and solar energy, is considered in the paper. Studies were conducted for two modes: 1) at parallel operation with the Russian power system - the Russian power system carries out normalized primary frequency regulation; 2) at isolated operation - the Azerbaijani power system itself carries out frequency regulation, while the Georgian power system operates in parallel with the Azerbaijani power system. Static and dynamic models of the power system were developed.
Key words: power system / sun energy / wind energy / power consumption / load schedule / power system frequency
