This paper presents an improved design of a marine refrigeration system using a perforated metal shield (PMS). The PMS helps in the sustainability of the operation of the system amidst the windy condition in the middle of the sea. This improved design reached the highest value of the coefficient of performance (COP) of the refrigeration system which is 3.51 at -2°C evaporating temperature. The target temperature of the product stored in the refrigeration system is also achieved.
