In this paper, the water quality characteristics of Xiaoqing River spillway section under sudden water pollution accident in Jiaodong water transfer project are simulated and analyzed by using hydrodynamic water quality model. Through the simulation of two different scenarios, it is found that the pollution impact time of pollutants is different, and the concentration change of pollutants is mainly affected by the decay time, in which the diversion velocity and flow rate are the decisive factors. The sudden water pollution accident caused the level of pollutants at the site to rise by 5-20%, highlighting the urgency of water quality safety.
