In this article we solve a few problems of shell and plate theory with py-pde package. The shell has a shape of elliptic paraboloid. Only membrane shell theory is considered. Both shell and plate have a rectangular boundary and are subjected to the uniform vertical load. The paper includes distributions of internal forces in the shell and bending moments in the plate obtained with the help of the py-pde program.
Key words: Plate theory / membrane shell theory / python / internal forces / bending moments / elliptic paraboloid / differential equation
