Today, ecology has become one of the priorities of domestic and international politics. The article analyzes the state of the modern environment, and also puts forward proposals for the use of various approaches when designing housing in order to increase the level of awareness of the population on the topic of environmental problems. Collecting recyclable materials, recycling waste, and sharing consumption occurs more efficiently if appropriate locations and approaches are provided at the design stage. Responsibility for the state of the environment lies not only with the state and corporations, but also with citizens, therefore the development of environmental habits through an integrated approach of designers, and not through the willpower of an individual, should become a priority.
