Oral cancer is a serious threat to human health diseases. Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and immunotherapy have become the four conventional treatment methods for tumors, and chemotherapy plays an important role. However, due to poor selectivity of chemotherapeutic drugs to tumors, most antitumor chemotherapeutic drugs cannot completely avoid damage to normal tissues in clinic at present, so dose-dependent toxicity is common. Nano-drugs have special physical, chemical and biological propertie. The nano drug particles and the nano drug loading system can improve the sensitivity of tumor tissues to chemotherapy, improve the selectivity of chemotherapy drugs to tumor tissue cells, and protect normal tissues from the damage of chemotherapy so as to reduce toxic and side effects, and are increasingly used for tumor treatment. In this paper, the mechanism of action of four drug delivery methods and the efficiency of different drug delivery methods are reviewed, and the application of nano-targeted DDS in the treatment of oral cancer is listed.
