In order to identify the key source area of the Futuan River basin, the Futuan River basin is taken as the target area, establishes the Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model, simules the runoff and total nitrogen pollution process in the basin, and analyzes the spatiotemporal characteristics of total nitrogen pollution. The key source areas of total nitrogen pollution in the basin were identified by the cumulative load curve method. The results show that the total nitrogen pollution load in the Futuan River basin presents obvious seasonal distribution characteristics. The subbasins with high load intensity of total nitrogen into the river are mainly in the middle and upper reaches of the Futuan River.
