Due to the characteristics of oversized size and weight, slow driving speed and other characteristics, heavy or bulky freight transportation(HBRFT) brings potential hazards to road transportation safety. It’s very helpful for other vehicles identifying HBRFT vehicles on the road by setting clear markings. Referring to European experience and combining with China’s actual situation, the paper proposed some considerations on the setting scheme of HBRFT markings. Firstly, the paper analyzed several parts of the HBRFT markings in Europe which conclude the front sign and markings, rear markings, side markings and projection markings. Then the paper provided the setting scheme of markings in china. Finally, the paper proposed relevant policy recommendations for the promotion and application of HBRFT markings. The paper has important reference for improving the safety and standardized operation of HBRFT in China.
