In Colombia, access to water resources is a critical problem due to population growth, deforestation, hardening of green areas and deficient water management infrastructure. The construction of small earth dams made soil slopes reinforced with Geosynthetics has been proposed. There have been more than thirty (30) years of experiences, both good and not so good. The objective of this presentation is to share these experiences and lessons learned for the good performance of this innovative, economically and environmentally very important system, as well as the experiences from which we have learned.
