This research presents a novel automated product sorting system tailored for industrial applications, utilizing image processing technology, pneumatic actuators, and a Raspberry Pi platform. In contrast to traditional sorting methods, this approach focuses on classifying products based on their dimensions specifically length and width into small and large categories. A high-resolution camera (12 MP) captures the product images, which are processed using advanced image processing algorithms, achieving dimension measurements with an accuracy of 0.1 cm for small products and 0.2 cm for large products. The integration of image processing with pneumatic mechanisms ensures precise and efficient sorting, overcoming the limitations of existing systems. The system’s performance is further optimized with a sorting time of approximately 1.5 seconds per product. This innovative solution provides a scalable and adaptable framework for industries requiring reliable, dimension-specific product classification, offering improvements in both operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
