The shoreline resources in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are abundant and have great value for development and utilization. With the rapid development of the economy and society, the development and utilization of waterfront resources have problems such as unreasonable layout of local areas, low utilization efficiency, and serious resource waste. It is urgent to achieve the rational utilization and effective protection of waterfront resources through scientific planning. This article starts from the perspective of landscape recreation, and constructs a suitability evaluation model for waterfront landscape recreation from six levels: nature, location, embankment, ecology, society, and planning. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to delineate five suitability level zones for engineering construction sites, and practical research is carried out using the Yichang Dianjun Changjiang shoreline as an example. From the results, it can be seen that the suitable and relatively high suitable areas for the Yichang point military Yangtze River shoreline are mainly located in the space under the bridges and surrounding areas of the Xijiang Yangtze River Bridge and Yiling Yangtze River Bridge, the Furong Beach area, Shilihong Village area, the southern area of Moji Mountain, and the area along Gezhouba Dam to Guanmao Mountain. The high suitability zone, high suitability zone, moderate suitability zone, low suitability zone, and low suitability zone account for 11.10%, 26.07%, 30.17%, 23.24%, and 9.42% of the total area, respectively. Finally, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed for the five suitability level characteristics, in order to promote the scientific and rational development, utilization, and effective protection of the shoreline resources in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
