For the purpose of determining predictive properties for solving deformation prediction and prevention problems, the character of the state of the cone mass is determined. At the same time, the main thing in predicting deformations in a certain area of the mine is to monitor the change in the geomechanical situation in it over time, which allows you to reliably assess the stagnation of its stationary slopes, to timely anticipate possible dangerous consequences in order to ensure the safety of mining operations. This article provides information on the factors of deformations occurring on the slopes of quarry sides, ledges and dumps that negatively affect the safety of mining operations, and measures to eliminate them. Also, from a scientific point of view, the issues of carrying out work were considered in order to develop measures to reduce the harmful effects of these deformations, monitor the determination of the nature of deformations and predict the stability of the sides of quarries.
