Urban riverside green spaces are not only an essential part of the urban ecosystem but also reflect the cultural behavior of urban resid- ents. Riverside landscapes embody the lifestyle and customs of the people, which have been shaped over time. As time progresses, people’s habits and perceptions gradually change with the advancement of science and techno- logy, leading to transformations in the urban landscape. This study aims to provide a developmental orientation for the riverside landscape space based on the area’s cultural characteristics through a cultural landscape analysis framework. It also discusses the interaction between landscape design and the cultural behavior of the people. Furthermore, it sets a devel- opment direction for the riverside landscape along the Lai Thieu (Lái Thiêu) river, from National Highway 13 to the Saigon river, in Thuan An city, Binh Duong province, Viet Nam.
