This study analyzes factors affecting urban bus route passenger flow sensitivity to optimize services. Utilizing a BP neural network on Hangzhou data (June–September 2023), it found that passenger volume, working population, and metro connections heighten sensitivity, while daily loops, mileage, and off-peak passenger share reduce it. The findings highlight the interplay of demand and supply factors, offering insights for better route planning and multimodal coordination.
