Direction of Arrival (DoA) identification is critical for intelligent navigation systems, particularly in dynamic environments involving visually impaired individuals. This study presents a fuzzy logic-based method for determining the direction of an object’s arrival (left, center, or right) using input data based on the detected area coverage. The sensing area is segmented into three zones, each categorised linguistically as either “small” or “big.” These inputs are processed through a fuzzy inference system with a predefined rule base, and the resulting output is obtained through defuzzification. Real-time testing with 20 object placements showed that the system achieved an average accuracy of 80%.
