Banana Farming Feasibility in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Banana plants that are easy to plant in open land and the ease of banana plants to bear fruit, cause many farmers to farm bananas that are planted in the yard of their houses, while the land used tends to be narrow and does not pay attention to the planting distance and even the land used as intercropping land. Based on the above problems, it is important to know whether the cost of production, receipt, income, and profits of banana farming in the Yogyakarta is feasible to run. The purpose of the research is to determine the feasibility of banana farming in the Yogyakarta. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method, the sampling method is by means of purposive sampling in 2 locations, with the number of farmer respondents 40 each in each location. Analysis of banana farming in an average land area of 451.12m2, total cost IDR 3,547,931.78, revenue IDR 4,991,784.82, revenue IDR 3,095,519.51, profit IDR 1,443,319.01. Banana farming feasibility R/C 1.41. Capital productivity of 77%, labor productivity IDR 165,412.25, land productivity IDR 3,208,562.31, said the results of the comparison are feasible, so banana farming is worth cultivating. The feasibility of banana farming in Yogyakarta has the potential to be continued and developed, so that banana farming can increase income in the farmer sector.
