Peatland ecosystems are fragile landscapes that are often threatened by unsustainable agricultural practices that accelerate ecological degradation. On the other hand, surrounding communities face economic vulnerability, requiring sustainable and inclusive governance models. This study examines the role of the Maju Jaya Bersama women farmers' group in Batang Duku Village, Bengkalis Regency, which has adopted environmentally friendly horticultural practices to combine ecological conservation and livelihood security. Through a descriptive qualitative approach involving interviews, observations, and group discussions, this study found that women who were previously marginalized now play an active role in community decision-making related to peatland management. Their leadership contributes to increased household income, reduced fire risk, and the formation of more inclusive and gender-responsive governance. These findings confirm that integrating gender equality into environmental governance requires recognition of women's agency and the removal of structural barriers to decision-making. The resulting policy implications highlight the importance of promoting restoration and CSR programs that place women as key actors through capacity building, institutional support, and access to resources to achieve a balance between welfare, gender equality, and ecological sustainability.
